KAMPALA - The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has officially released the results for continuing students who sat for the November/December 2024 technical and vocational education and training (TVET) assessment series.

UVTAB executive director Onesmus Oyesigye says the results are now accessible via the Education Information Management System (EIMS) portal on the board’s official website.

“We appreciate the dedication and co-operation of all stakeholders who ensured the successful administration of the assessments,” Oyesigye says.

“Assessment for employable skills remains our guiding principle as we strive to uphold the integrity and quality of TVET assessments.”

This release follows the recent induction and orientation of new national TVET bodies, including UVTAB, the Uganda Health Professionals Accreditation Board (UHPAB), and the TVET Council.

These changes stem from the TVET Act, enacted in March 2024, which dissolved previous examination and accreditation boards.

Under the new structure, the functions of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB), the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB), and the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examination Board (UNIMEB) have been consolidated under the TVET Council.

This unified body operates under the oversight of the National Council for Higher Education and the TVET Department at the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The delay in releasing results, originally set for March 2025, was due to the absence of a fully constituted board, creating legal and administrative hurdles for UVTAB. With the board in place, key activities, including timely examination results, have resumed.

Established under the TVET Act, UVTAB assesses and certifies technical and vocational skills nationwide. Its core mission is to promote quality and relevance in TVET, ensuring students acquire practical, market-ready skills to enhance their employability.
