Uganda tops Africa in coffee exports, earnings hit sh8.2 trillion

Uganda’s coffee sector continues to strengthen its continental position, exporting slightly more than Ethiopia’s 7.82 million bags during the 2024/25 fiscal year, making Uganda the number one exporter on the continent.

This is the highest Uganda has ever earned. This represents a 46.96% increment in volume and an unprecedented 77.33% growth in value compared to the 5.8 million bags worth $1.3b (about sh4.88 trillion) exported between November 2023 and October 2024.
