Flexipay, Stanbic Bank’s digital payments platform, is giving Ugandans even more reasons to smile this Easter season.
The mobile money service has rolled out a new promotional campaign where users stand a chance to win sh500,000 simply by receiving money from abroad.
Running from April 7 to June 30, 2025, the Flexipay Easter campaign automatically enters users into a weekly draw when they receive remittances via Flexipay’s international money transfer services. Each week, four lucky winners will walk away with sh500,000.
The campaign is in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and leverages trusted global money transfer services like Upesi, Mpesa, and Juba Express. It targets Ugandans receiving funds from countries such as the UK, UAE, Sweden, USA, Kenya, Tanzania, and South Sudan.
Sam Mwogeza, the Stanbic Bank Executive Director making his remarks.
Flexipay played a key role in this financial inflow. In 2024, the platform processed sh30 billion in remittances through over 11,000 transactions from countries like the USA, UK, Canada, and UAE.
As part of the Easter campaign, recipients of qualifying remittances will also enjoy a 10% cashback. For instance, receiving sh100,000 guarantees an additional sh10,000, while sh1,000,000 earns sh100,000.
Sam Mwogeza, the Executive Director and Head of Personal and Private Banking at Stanbic Bank, shared that the IFAD partnership has helped reduce remittance costs by 3%, a benefit especially significant for families in rural areas.
