KAMPALA - The upcoming Bride & Groom Expo is fast approaching, as the days inch closer to June 26 - 28.
With an entrance fee of only sh10,000, the expo attendees will have an invaluable experience. It will be fun, resourceful and very insightful.
For those planning to wed, the expo is the place for you. It will have all service providers in the wedding industry, ranging from wedding gowns, suits, jewellery, cake and decoration, among others.
Alongside wedding service providers, there will be other players in finance, homes, and lifestyle and wellness. This is because the expo theme transcends weddings to encompass other aspects of life and marriage. The theme is, Beyond I do: A journey of love, home and family.
And yet there is more. The expo will also have a variety of experts to share insights on different pertinent issues such as finance in marriage, intimacy and infertility.
One such expert will be Ssenga Namazzi, real name Judith Bakirya, who will share nuggets on marital bliss.
She, for example, advises young people to scrutinize key elements, such as good manners, faithfulness, hard work, and the fear of God, as opposed to solely focusing on physical appearance and money.
She believes that a person with good manners can carve a good life, but a person with bad manners, even if he or she has money, the person can cause a marriage to fail.
"Many people are caught up by external beauty and forget the state of a person's heart. A man or a girl might not be rich, but if they have a good heart, care for you, and want to grow with you, that is what matters," she said.
She also adds that it is very important for a person to know what they want in life before entering a relationship. She explains that many people enter relationships out of fear of being alone or because they see their peers getting married, which leads them to make mistakes.
In the same way, she urges parents to resume preparing and talking to their children about marriage matters, because many have now abandoned the task of guiding children on love and marriage.
Embrace expos
On the issue of those searching for the right spouse, Ssenga Namazzi says expos, such as the Bride & Groom Expo, teach people significantly to learn and understand married life from experts.
This year's Bride & Groom Expo is scheduled to take place at Lugogo from June 26 to June 28, with sh 10,000 as the entrance fee.
Ssenga Namazzi has confirmed that she will be one of the speakers at this event organized by the Vision Group.
She says that many will get the opportunity to listen to advice that builds good relationships and gives understanding to the true meaning of marriage. She also encourages people to attend in large numbers.
"People think this expo is only for buying things related to weddings, but there are many other activities involved, including insightful teachings on how to manage a marriage and how to find the right partner," she says.
She adds that people who attend such events can meet like-minded individuals, and may even lead to tying the knot after the expo.
